SC/ST/OBC Cell – as per UGC, AICTE and government guidelines


Composition of the Cell:
1. Chairperson
o Head of Institution (Principal/Director) or senior professor

2. Coordinator/Convenor
o A senior faculty member from SC/ST/OBC category (if available), preferably with social awareness

3. Faculty Members (2–3)
o From different departments, including at least one from the SC/ST/OBC category

4. Administrative Officer
o To assist in documentation, data maintenance, and grievance handling

5. Student Representatives (1–2)
o Belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories

Note: The composition should reflect diversity and inclusivity and must include
members from reserved categories.

Roles and Responsibilities of SC/ST/OBC Cell
Implementation and Compliance

  • Ensure implementation of the reservation policies of the Government of India and
    State Government in:
    o Admission
    o Recruitment
    o Scholarships
    o Hostels and other student support schemes
  • Monitor reservation quotas and seat allocation for SC/ST/OBC categories.

Grievance Redressal

  • Receive and address complaints of:
    o Caste-based discrimination
    o Harassment or unfair treatment
    o Denial of rights or entitlements
  • Take appropriate action or forward the grievance to higher authorities if needed.

Support and Guidance

  • Provide academic and emotional support to SC/ST/OBC students.
  • Organize remedial coaching, special classes, and skill-building programs.
