This Department was established in 2014 and is affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujrat University. Our college is known for its quality education with the best possible infrastructure, environment and discipline giving opportunities for all round development of student’s personality. In teaching, classroom and laboratory teaching is given equal importance. The syllabi of various courses, offered by the department are regularly updated. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculties. In their pursuit of research, the faculty members have covered a vast area such as Numerical & Classical Methods in fluid mechanics (Flow through Porous Media), Number theory, Special Functions, Integral Transforms and Mathematical Modelling. The entire teaching faculty is actively engaged in research in their respective fields. Our success has been entirely due to the trust and confidence placed in us by our students and their guardians. We encourage students to participate in the learning experience through participation in the classroom, research, seminars, and community engagement. We also encourage both students and staff to undertake professional development opportunities that make educational excellence possible. We value the contributions of the staff and students to the Department of Mathematics through publications, presentations and other methods of intellectual dissemination and strongly encourage their continued efforts in these endeavours.

OBJECTIVE OF COURSE

The objective of the B.Sc. with Mathematics program is to provide students with a solid foundation in core mathematical principles and techniques, enabling them to develop proficiency in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis. The program aims to impart comprehensive knowledge across various branches of mathematics, including calculus, algebra, discrete mathematics, analysis and number theory, while also fostering critical thinking and logical reasoning skills. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, and practical exercises, the program aims to prepare students for further academic pursuits, as well as for careers in fields such as education, finance, engineering, computer science, and research. Ultimately, the B.Sc. with Mathematics program seeks to nurture a deep appreciation for the beauty and utility of Mathematics, empowering students to apply mathematical concepts creatively to address realworld challenges.
