MBA Course assists you in customizing your learning through a course pathway based primarily on your education, career experience and goals. It provides in-depth understanding of traditional and non-traditional aspects of Management Education.

MBA programmes are designed to help students formalize ideas and look at them logically. A combination of rigorous research-based curriculum with an emphasis on real-life applications, the experiential knowledge pushes students to discover practical business solutions using the tools and techniques that develop in and outside classroom during course duration.

The University grants commission (UGC) India and all India council for technical education (AICTE) recognizes MBA as a two year masters degree in management.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate shall have passed the qualifying examination of Bachelor / Equivalent Graduation degree with minimum of 50% marks (45% Marks for ST/SC students)/ Equivalent Grade Point from:

  • Any University / Institute affiliated to any University in the State / Country of domicile; or
  • Any University / Institute affiliated to any University situated outside the State / Country of domicile.
  • A candidate who has appeared in the final year of Bachelor's Degree examination shall also be eligible to apply in the relevant Post Graduation Program of GTU provided that he/she shall have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks at the time of final admission in the respective Graduation Program of GTU.

Program Structure

The MBA programme of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) is conducted on a semester basis with four semesters spread over two academic years. The duration of each semester is around 15 weeks. In each semester there are seven courses/subjects. In the first year all 14 subjects are compulsory. In the second year there will be three types of courses, namely, compulsory, electives and specialisation. The MBA programme is having eight elective subjects, namely; International Business (IB), New Enterprise and Innovation Management (NE&IM), Quality Management (QM), Corporate Taxation (CT), Financial Planning (FP), Gandhian Philosophy for Managing Business (GPMB), WTO Multilateral Trading System and its Impact on Business (WMTS-I), Retail Operations (RO). A student can choose any one of the eight elective subjects. and, also having three Specialisation, namely; Marketing, Finance & Human Resource Management. A student can choose any one of the three Specialisation.

  • The assessment pattern for MBA programme comprises a module of a final semester-end examination carried out by the Gujarat Technological University and internal evaluation by the college as well.
  • All the subjects have 70 marks of GTU’s final exam (E), 30 marks of mid –semester college exam (M) and 50 marks of ‘Practice School’ (SME Nursery for Immersion study) in MBA Semester 1, 2, 3 and 4 as practical means of implementing Module 5 of all subjects (Prepare a small report with Presentation covering 5th module of all the subjects taught in all the 4 semesters of MBA Program.)
  • Constant analysis of assignment, seminars, quizzes, attendance, regularity and behaviour takes place by the concerned faculty who decides the scheme of assessment and announces at the beginning of the term.(semester)
  • The passing norm is minimum 50% of marks in each individual head of University exam, mid semester exam and practical project for all the subjects.
  • In case of the backlog(less than 50% marks in any component); whenever student clears the component, only 50%marks (max) is considered out of total marks for the subjects /head.
  • There will be one mid semester exam in a semester for University exam as well as remedial test. In case of failure to clear the remedial, student will have to appear in the regular semester test in the subsequent year.
  • Student having more than 4 backlogs after declaration of remedial exam result is not allowed for further studies till he/she clears backlog/s; so as total number of backlogs are not more than 4.
  • The weightage given in the syllabus is for the guidance only.
  • There will be 5 questions of maximum 70 marks out of which questions of 21 marks will be compulsory.
  • Duration of the question paper is 3 hours.
  • After adding the internal marks with the marks secured by the student in the University examination , the marks will be converted to a letter grade as per the following:
1.85 -100 marks - AA grade
2.75 - 84 marks - AB grade
3.65 - 74 marks - BB grade
4.55 - 64 marks - BC grade
5.50 - 54 marks - CC grade
